Lower Back Pain

Do you suffer from lower back pain? Low back pain is one of the most common musculoskeletal health problems and affects 80%-85% of people over their lifetime.

Initial pain relief treatments such as Ibuprofen or Paracetamol may not work for everyone. Such medicines (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs) should only be used for limited period due to potential long term side effects such as gastric ulcers. Currently the only alternative is opioid analgesia such as Codeine however these still have side effects that impact quality of life and social interactions.

If you’re suffering with side effects from taking opioid medications for pain relief, you may qualify to participate in a research study for a herbal medicinal treatment for back pain.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Male or female aged 18 years of age and above.
  • Nonspecific lower back pain i.e. not caused by other conditions such as osteoporosis, previous fracture, inflammatory back pain.
